Your mission

We are seeking a highly motivated Application Scientist to join our team and serve as scientific and technical expert for our products and solutions. This is a field-based position with extensive travel, where you will engage directly with customers, providing hands-on technical support, training, and demonstrations to ensure successful adoption of our technologies. As an Application Scientist, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between our R&D, sales, and customers—helping to translate scientific needs into effective solutions while representing the company in a professional and collaborative manner.

Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions to customers and partners across Europe, with occasional travel to the US and Asia.
Provide pre- and post-sales scientific support, working closely with the commercial team to ensure customer success and satisfaction.
Act as the primary technical contact for customer queries, troubleshooting, and application-related problem solving.
Collaborate with the product development and marketing teams by relaying customer feedback, application data, and emerging market trends.
Prepare technical documents, application notes, and training materials to support customer education and product promotion.
Attend scientific conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings as a company representative.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, training, and support activities.
Troubleshooting device performance and optimizing workflows in the field.

Your profile

Advanced degree (MSc or PhD preferred) in Biomedical Engineering, Microfluidics, Materials Science, Analytical Chemistry, or a closely related field.
Hands-on experience in medical diagnostics, biosensor development, microfluidics, or device prototyping is highly desirable.
Industry or postdoctoral experience involving application development, proof-of-concept studies, or technical support.
Previous experience in a customer-facing scientific role (applications, field support, or technical sales) preferred.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
Ability to work across biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering disciplines.
Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 13485, ISO 9001) is an advantage.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.
High degree of flexibility, independence, and willingness to travel up to 60%.
Fluent English is required; additional European languages are an advantage.
Must have a UK drivers license and access to a car.

Ihre Aufgaben

Wir suchen eine:n motivierte:n Application Scientist, die:der unser Team verstärkt und als wissenschaftliche und technische Ansprechperson für unsere Produkte und Lösungen fungiert.
Diese Position ist mit umfangreicher Reisetätigkeit verbunden. Du arbeitest direkt mit Kund:innen zusammen, unterstützt sie technisch vor Ort, führst Schulungen und Produktdemonstrationen durch und trägst so wesentlich zum erfolgreichen Einsatz unserer Technologien bei.

Als Application Scientist übernimmst du eine zentrale Rolle zwischen unseren Teams aus Forschung & Entwicklung, Vertrieb und unseren Kund:innen. Du hilfst dabei, wissenschaftliche Anforderungen in praxisnahe Lösungen zu übersetzen und vertrittst das Unternehmen professionell und partnerschaftlich.

Durchführung technischer Präsentationen, Produktdemonstrationen und Schulungen für Kund:innen und Partner:innen in ganz Europa, gelegentlich auch in den USA und Asien
Wissenschaftliche Unterstützung vor und nach dem Verkaufsprozess in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Vertriebsteam, um Kundenerfolg und -zufriedenheit sicherzustellen
Hauptansprechperson für technische Kundenanfragen, Troubleshooting und lösungsorientierten Anwendungssupport
Zusammenarbeit mit Produktentwicklung und Marketing durch Weitergabe von Kundenfeedback, Anwendungsdaten und Markttrends
Erstellung technischer Dokumentationen, Application Notes und Schulungsmaterialien zur Unterstützung von Kund:innen und zur Produktvermarktung
Teilnahme an wissenschaftlichen Konferenzen, Fachmessen und Kundenterminen als Unternehmensvertreter:in
Dokumentation aller Kundenkontakte, Schulungen und Supportaktivitäten
Analyse und Behebung von Geräteproblemen sowie Optimierung von Arbeitsabläufen im Feld

Ihr Profil

Abschluss (MSc oder PhD bevorzugt) in Biomedizinischer Technik, Mikrofluidik, Materialwissenschaften, Analytischer Chemie oder einem eng verwandten Fachgebiet.
Praktische Erfahrung in der medizinischen Diagnostik, der Entwicklung von Biosensoren, Mikrofluidik oder Geräteprototypen ist sehr wünschenswert.
Industrie- oder Postdoc-Erfahrung in der Anwendungsentwicklung, Proof-of-Concept-Studien oder technischem Support.
Frühere Erfahrung in einer kundenorientierten wissenschaftlichen Rolle (Anwendungen, Außendienstunterstützung oder technischer Vertrieb) bevorzugt.
Hervorragende Kommunikations-, Präsentations- und zwischenmenschliche Fähigkeiten sowie die Fähigkeit, ein vielfältiges Publikum anzusprechen.
Fähigkeit, über die Disziplinen Biologie, Chemie, Physik und Ingenieurwesen hinweg zu arbeiten.
Kenntnisse von regulatorischen Standards (z. B. ISO 13485, ISO 9001) sind von Vorteil.
Starke Problemlösungsfähigkeiten mit einer proaktiven, lösungsorientierten Denkweise.
Hohe Flexibilität, Selbstständigkeit und Bereitschaft zu Reisen von bis zu 60 %.
Fließende Englischkenntnisse sind erforderlich; weitere europäische Sprachen von Vorteil.
Führerschein der Klasse B (UK) und Zugang zu einem Auto erforderlich.
